Resumo:
There are several tools that perform the conversion of text to libras, and their performance,
referring to its use in an attempt to overcome the frequent absence of an interpreter for
libras in conventional environments, is still little explored. In this paper comparative
analyzes were performed between these tools, in which these were based on cases of tests
performed with two professionals who work and / or are part of the deaf community.
The purpose of these comparative analyzes is to observe and explore even more about
these tools, testing their performance, because as we know, the Portuguese translation
to pounds is something very complex and very interpretive, since in general the sign
languages depend much more context of the situation, that the text itself or in writing,
for your full understanding. The research has an exploratory character, since its main
characteristic is to provide a greater knowledge about the problem, talking about deaf
people, hearing impaired and assistive technologies, with a focus on the deaf community.
His planning was very flexible, since besides the bibliographical survey, through the tests
were also made interviews with people who had practical experiences with the analyzed
tools. At the end of these comparisons, the final considerations were given, that from the
results obtained with the tests was made a description of the errors that each of the tools
presented.
